Terms of Service
Effective October 17, 2026 · Version 2026-10-17
These Terms govern your use of Breakout Avionics (the "Service"), provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Breakout," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the shop or business you use it for ("your shop").
1. Reference only. Not approved data.
The Service is a planning and drafting aid. Nothing it produces (drawings, wire lists, pinouts, configuration sheets, verification results, or any other output) is FAA-approved or acceptable data, and none of it replaces the equipment manufacturer's current installation manual, an STC, AC 43.13-1B/-2B, or any other data required for an installation or alteration.
You, and the certificated person performing or approving the work, are solely responsible for verifying every pin, wire, connection, configuration setting and drawing against current approved data before it is used on an aircraft, and for the airworthiness of all work performed. Automated checks ("verification," circuit tracing and similar features) can miss errors and do not certify anything.
2. Your data and manuals
The Service ships with no manufacturer pinout library. Units, connectors and pin data are entered or imported by you. You represent that you have the legal right to use any manual, document or data you enter, upload or import (for example, through a dealer agreement or a manufacturer's license), and that doing so does not violate any agreement or anyone's rights. You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter or import.
PDF import uses automated text and image processing, including an AI model, to read pin tables. It can misread or omit rows. Imported data must be reviewed against the source manual before use.
Your shop owns its data. We use it only to provide the Service. You can export it at any time from your dashboard.
3. Accounts, shops and seats
Each login is for one person. Don't share logins; add people as seats instead. The shop owner controls who is on the team and is responsible for their use of the Service. Keep your password secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use.
4. Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed in advance for the period shown at checkout and renew automatically until cancelled. [Refund policy, trial terms, price-change notice period, and taxes to be added with billing.]
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no attempts to access other shops' data, overload or reverse-engineer the Service, upload malicious files, or use it to infringe anyone's rights. We may suspend accounts that do.
6. Trademarks
Equipment names such as Garmin, Dynon and Avidyne are trademarks of their owners. Breakout is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any equipment manufacturer.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY OUTPUT IS CORRECT, COMPLETE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY AIRCRAFT.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BREAKOUT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT OR PROPERTY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. [Attorney: confirm cap and carve-outs.]
9. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Breakout against claims arising from work performed using the Service, data you entered or imported, or your breach of these Terms.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms; if the change is material we'll ask you to accept the new version before continuing. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms. Sections 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona. [Attorney: arbitration clause?]
